Fibreglass Concepts EK40 Monohull

The first of the EK series/Ekman designed vessels produced by Fibreglass Concepts was the 12m monohull, Sweet Release. A unique combination of family and sports launch, the EK40 was built to meet a number of specific requirements designed to maximize enjoyment for the whole family. The cockpit had to be large enough for several divers to gear up at the same time. It had to be stable and economical at low speeds to enable it to trawl all day while gamefishing.

Because stability was considered more important than top speed, the EK40 has a deep vee hull with gullwing style chine details 150mm wide which act as very effective roll dampeners. However, top speed is still a very respectable 16 knots powered by a Cummins 55st V8.

Inside, the EK40 comfortably accommodates 8 adults. The galley is well equipped to cater for gourmet cooking aboard and general amenities ensure extended voyage on the EK40 is always a comfortable experience.
